Practice Area — Two Black Coats, Islamabad

An FBR notice deserves a measured answer.

Income tax, sales tax, audits, and appeals — advocates and consultants working as one tax bench.

I

The Work

Tax matters are won on records and deadlines. Our tax bench pairs advocates who argue appeals before the Commissioner (Appeals), the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, and the High Courts with consultants who handle registrations, filings, and audit responses — so an FBR notice gets both a legal answer and a practical one, on time.

We act for salaried individuals, professionals, and companies across Islamabad and Rawalpindi: assessment and amendment proceedings, audit selection, withholding disputes, sales tax registration and litigation, and recovery matters where the department has moved first and asked questions later. The earlier we see a notice, the more options you have.

What we handle

  • Replies to FBR notices and assessment proceedings
  • Income tax appeals before Commissioner (Appeals) and ATIR
  • Sales tax registration, returns, and disputes
  • Audit selection and audit proceedings
  • Withholding tax and exemption certificate matters
  • Recovery, attachment, and stay applications
  • High Court tax references and writ petitions
  • Tax structuring for businesses and startups

Representation before RTO Islamabad and beyond

We appear regularly before the Regional Tax Office and field formations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the Appellate Tribunal, and the Islamabad High Court on tax references. That regular presence means we know how proceedings actually run here — what an audit officer expects, when a stay is realistic, and how to keep a recovery notice from freezing your bank account while the appeal is heard.

Common questions

I received an FBR notice. What should I do first?

Note the deadline, do not ignore it, and do not reply casually — a weak first reply haunts the whole proceeding. Send us the notice and your record; we respond within the statutory time with the legal and factual position properly framed.

Can FBR attach my bank account?

In recovery proceedings the department has coercive powers, including attachment — but stays are available from the Commissioner (Appeals), the Tribunal, and the High Court in appropriate cases. Timing is critical; engage counsel before the recovery stage, not after.

How long does a tax appeal take?

Commissioner (Appeals) matters typically conclude in months; Tribunal appeals vary with the bench's docket. We push for early hearing where a recovery threat exists and keep you updated at every stage.

Do you handle both filing and litigation?

Yes. Consultants on our bench handle registrations, returns, and compliance; advocates handle appeals and court proceedings. Most clients keep both under one roof so nothing falls between two stools.
